Our Story
All Waterworks Spas are made in America by Watkins Manufacturing Corp., the manufacturer of America’s most efficient and durable HotSpring Spas. Sold in over 60 countries worldwide, these spas work in extreme environments and have been developed by 35 years of cold Alaskan experience.
Watkins continues to lead the industry in engineering design that keeps money in your pocket and provides the optimum in hydrotherapy without a high cost of operation.
These spas have been in operation outdoors in Alaska, and other harsh environments for over 25 years. When value counts in your budget, find out why more Alaskans continue to choose Hot Spring Spas from The Waterworks Inc.
Super-insulated, American-made, Hot Spring Spas are proven to operate efficiently at -60 F without any additional modification from the factory.
They continuously circulate water through all the plumbing 24 hrs per day with a pump that draws .6 amps; this is equal to a 75 watt light bulb yet the effective energy cost is that of a 25 watt light bulb as the heat it creates in operation is transfered back to the spa.
All Hot Spring Spas are Direct Heated and pass all the energy directly into the water through titanium or stainless steel heaters. There is no inefficient jet pump used to indirectly heat air then the spa shell and finally trying to heat the spa water.
The Hot Spring spa warm air induction system captures heated air generated by the jet pump and directs it into the spa’s water, slowing the water’s cool down rate and saving energy. Once you own a Hot Spring spa, you’ll really appreciate it lower operating.
All air drawn into the jets is first drawn through the jet pump motor only when you are using the jet pump, then transfered directly to the jets that are calling for air only by venture induction by the jets that are in use at the time. (only the jets you desire and the hydrotherapy you need are in operation not multiple high horsepower pumps drawing cold air into the spa through jets which are not being used.) Effectively the induction air temp is between 100 and 140 F degrees going into the spa only while you are enjoying the individually controllable action of the jets you select.) We have never claimed that this system is a heater to heat your spa, it dramatically reduces the heat loss from the spa in that we do not inject ambient temperature air to make multiple jet pumps or blower motors operate.
We will not put a blower motor into any spa we sell as they provide little therapy value and dramatically cool off the spas they are in which increases the energy required to keep the spa at a comfortable temperature to use.(i.e. your electric meter on the side of your house spins faster and you pay more to the electric company with spas equipped with this sales feature (it helps sell the spa not of value in efficient operation for hydrotherapy)
Our spas are comprised of carefully engineered selected components which work together to provide you with the optimum in hydrotherapy at the lowest operational cost to you. The jet systems are balanced to create the same amount of water flow out as they draw in through the 100 percent filtration. In a Hot Spring spa no water moves with out first passing through a filter.
Simply stated these spas are time tested and proven in Alaska operating in harsher conditions for a longer period of time than any other brand in more extreme conditions. They endure longer periods of being without power, cost less to operate and hold a higher resale value than other brands. Simply they are more durable, reliable and efficient.
Invest your money wisely. We gladly compare the reality of operation with you and cut through all the sales claims that are made. Our 30 years servicing , selling, and installing spas through out Alaska is real Alaskan experience not some statement about being made in Canada . Rely on reality not salesmen hype and things that sound good on the surface but do not prove out well in use in our environment.
